Where did your depression come from? When did it start? All questions of the past.
We can't change the past, if it was a minuet ago or 10 years ago it's the past.
What happens in the next minuet or the next 10 years we can have an affect on.
Read on to find out how you can start over and leave depression behind.
What about the past We can't change the past, but we can learn form the past.
Depression can be acute or chronic, it can be from a sudden loss or something accumulating over many years.
In either case you have to learn how to retrain your thoughts so the grips of depression will loosen upon your mind and you can start over again.
Easier said than done That's right, it's not the easiest of tasks to unravel years of depressive thoughts, but if you desire to try that's a start.
You have people that just like the role of a victim and there is nothing you can do or say that will change them.
Beyond that there are a whole slew of people that don't want the sadness of depression hovering over them 24/7, but don't know what to do.
Lets bust open the doors and see what we can do.
Hate your enemy Depression is not a friend of yours and I know you are suppose to love your enemy, but in this case lets hate depression.
The reason is simple, it wants to destroy you.
If you know someone is coming over to your house to destroy you do you invite them in for coffee? No, you find out how to defend yourself or better yet what offense you can use to protect yourself.
The same applies here, depression is an invader of thought.
Thoughts can then make you cry, or become ill or even suicidal.
What to do? Pills won't do it.
You have to counter depressive thoughts with what depression hates.
It hates hope and happiness.
This may sound a bit strange, but it works.
Write down on a piece of paper "I know who you are and I know what you are doing to me".
Then you will have to finish the next sentence that starts with "I reject you because I want to be...
" it could be happy again or I want to be healthy again, you get the picture.
The main thing is to replace the depressive thought as quick as possible before it gets in your mind again.
This is the battle you must win to start over again.
Be patient, understand that thoughts become habits and they don't die easy.
Somewhere at sometime you gave control over to depressive thoughts and now you have to take it back.
You may have to do this for months, but it's not a bad trade to get back your life.
