Make a Call

• 1). Press the "Send" key on the handset device.
  
  
• 2). Use the number pad to enter in a phone number. Place your finger over a number key and press down quickly. The BlackBerry 9530 uses a push screen technology so you will need to press down firmly rather then tap the screen.
  
  
• 3). Press the "Send" key to place the call.
  
  
• 4). Press the "End" key to end the call.
  
  

Send a Text Message

• 1). Press the BlackBerry icon. Press the "Message List" icon from the list of applications.
  
  
• 2). Press "Compose SMS."
  
  
• 3). Use the dial pad to type a phone number in the "To" field. Use the on-screen keyboard to type a message in the body.
  
  
• 4). Press "Send" to send the message.
  
  

Send an Email

• 1). Press the BlackBerry icon. Press the "Message List" icon from the list of applications.
  
  
• 2). Press "Compose Email."
  
  
• 3). Type an email address using the on-screen keyboard in the "To" text field.
  
  
• 4). Type an email message using the on-screen keyboard in the body of the email.
  
  
• 5). Click "Send" to send your message.
  
  

Add an Appointment

• 1). Press the "Calendar" icon on the home screen.
  
  
• 2). Press "New" to open a new message.
  
  
• 3). Use the on screen keyboard to fill in the text boxes under "Appointment Information."
  
  Press the BlackBerry icon.
  
  
• 4). Press "Save" to save the appointment.
