- 1). Peel off the "Black 32 Lexmark" label that is at the very top of the ink cartridge. Four holes will be underneath the label; any one of these will work as a fill hole.
- 2). Fill a plastic syringe bottle with 15 ml of fresh black ink; a complete refill kit will include the syringe and ink. If the syringe can't hold 15 ml, fill it with as much as possible.
- 3). Insert the syringe needle into one of the four holes; the hole in the back left corner, closest to the cartridge's copper strip, works best because of the proximity to the print head. Inject the ink into the sponge within the cartridge.
- 4). Refill the syringe with enough ink and inject again as needed for a full refill of 15 ml.
- 5). Insert the cartridge into the printer and run cleaning cycles on the printer to ensure it is operating correctly; three cycles should be enough. Let the cartridge stand in the printer for eight hours before printing.
