How to Change a Screensaver with OpenSUSE

    Changing the Screen Saver in KDE

    • 1). Click on the green menu icon in the far left corner of your taskbar.

    • 2). Select "Configure Desktop" from the menu. This will open the Personal Settings menu.

    • 3). Click on "Desktop" on the top row of the Personal Settings menu to open your desktop settings.

    • 4). Select "Screen Saver" from the menu on the left to open your screen saver categories. Clicking on different screen savers will show a small preview screen to the right of the screen saver selection menu.

    • 5). Select the screen saver you want to use. Click "Setup" to change the speed of the screen saver, or "Test" to view a full-screen preview. Beneath the screen saver selection box, you can select how long you want the computer to wait before initializing the screen saver and set a password, if desired.

    • 6). Click "Apply" to save your screen saver settings.

    Changing the Screen Saver in GNOME

    • 1). Click "Computer", then select "Control Center."

    • 2). Click on "Look and Feel." Click "Screen Saver" to open your screen saver settings.

    • 3). Scroll through the menu and select the screen saver you want to use. Clicking on a screen saver will initiate a preview in the box beside the menu. Selecting "Preview" beneath screen saver menu will show you a full-screen preview.

    • 4). Use the slider beneath the preview box to set how long you want Gnome to be idle before the screen saver starts. You can also select whether or not you want the screen to be locked while the screen saver is active.

    • 5). Click "Close" and choose the option to save your settings.
