- Microsoft Game Studios released the history based video game "Age of Empires III" for Macintosh, PC, and BlackBerry gamers in October of 2005. Developed by Ensemble Studios, "Age of Empires III" is rated suitable for players age 13 and older. The game challenges players to set up colonies, battle other factions, and make sure all of the people in the game have rations. Players can choose between eight different groups to lead in battle.
- Microsoft Game Studios released the futuristic fighting game "Halo: Combat Evolved" for Macintosh, PC, and Xbox. The game debuted earlier for the Xbox, but came out for Macintosh gamers in 2003. Created by Gearbox Software, "Halo" is rated suitable only for mature gamers. In "Halo," players can play a single players mode that is comprised of multiple alien hunting missions. Players also have the option to compete with or against one another online from anywhere in the world.
- Electronic Arts released the role playing video game "Dragon Age: Origins" for Macintosh, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November of 2009. The game was developed by BioWare and is only rated acceptable for mature players. Players compete as multiple characters in an effort to stop a group of evil creatures from taking over the world. To develop characters and find clues, players must interact with other characters placed throughout the game.
- Electronic Arts released the racing game "Need for Speed Carbon" for Macintosh, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable (PSP), Xbox, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo DS, Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii in August of 2007. The game was developed by Black Box and is rated appropriate for players at least 10 years old. To gain control of the game's city, players must compete in a series of street races throughout "Need for Speed Carbon." New cars are unlocked as players advance in the game.
