Words That Heal

Words are powerful tools; they can turn a frown into a smile and vice versa.
We use words everyday of our life.
How we use our them is extremely important.
Words spoken out of kindness can bring joy, while words spoken spitefully can cause emotional wounds.
Words are so valuable consumers spend millions of dollars on products containing words, from books to greeting cards, they are valuable.
Words can entertain, inspire, encourage and inform.
Believe it or not, they can even bring healing to a broken spirit.
What a blessing to be able to communicate our thoughts and feelings.
Humanity has been given the gift of verbal communication.
How wonderful it is to know that, with this particular gift we can do so many different things.
Along with the gift of words, also comes responsibility to use our words in the best way possible.
Scripture tells us in Ephesians 4:29 (NLT) don't use foul or abusive language.
Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
This is instruction about how we should use our words.
We have been given this instruction, because our words are powerful.
Whether we use our words positively or negatively, our words carry power with them.
The Bible tells us to be sure we are using our words to bring about good.
We are created in God's image and after His own likeness.
We know that God's words are powerful and life changing.
It was with Gods spoken communication that created the heavens and earth.
We are not perfect like God but we should make our best effort to communicate wisely.
I know we don't always say what we mean, but we can decide this very moment to do better.
We can start making an effort to watch how we speak, do we speak life, hope, joy and strength? The more we practice encouraging others rather than to defeat them, the better we will become at doing so.
Don't settle for the same old behavior and expect things to improve.
We are in charge of our own words, not God or anyone else.
Changing our words can be one of the best choices we've made in a long time.
When we change our words from harmful words to soothing words of comfort, we can't help but begin to grow spiritually.
Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself and watch the world around you become a better place.
Others around you will notice the change in you, and most of all your self- image will improve as a result of simply changing the words you speak.
