How to Finish Homework

    • 1). Resign yourself to the fact that homework is part of school life. Although some teachers and schools don't require homework, most do. Don't debate the issue with yourself or your classmates. Complaining is counterproductive and wastes time and energy.

    • 2). Realize the helpful benefits every time you finish homework. There are some perks involved. Yes, you've worked hard all day at school, but when you do your homework, you reinforce everything you've been learning. Homework helps cement facts into your mind. You remember more of what you learn. You also make a good impression on your teachers when you finish homework.

    • 3). Restrict yourself to getting the job done, so that your parents don't have to restrict you from activities you enjoy. It's a win-win situation. You show maturity by doing what you know needs to be done. Then, your parents are happy to see your responsible actions when you finish homework without a fuss. Everyone in the family feels less stress.

    • 4). Remember that homework does not have to be perfect. Do a good job, but don't obsess over every detail. Many teachers don't even grade homework. Most teachers just want to know that you have followed through on the assignment. You get credit for simply making the effort.

    • 5). Reward yourself after you finish your homework each evening. Getting the job done as quickly as possible allows you more time for fun. Set yourself a time limit for homework. Then, look forward to music, games and chatting with your friends.
