How to Set up Multiple Computers With Wireless DSL

    • 1). Plug the DSL modem's Ethernet cable into the WAN port of the wireless router. Plug both the DSL modem and wireless router into an electrical outlet. The DSL modem should synchronize within a few minutes. The modem's LED display lights will indicate when complete.

    • 2). Connect an Ethernet cable from a computer to a LAN port on the wireless router. Boot the computer, and log into the operating system.

    • 3). Log on to the wireless router's configuration page from the computer's web browser. Generally, the configuration page is located at http://192.168.1.1. Consult your router's user manual for the exact address.

    • 4). Select the General Setup tab of the configuration. From the Connection Type option, choose "PPPoE." Enter the username and password supplied by the DSL provider in the configuration page. Save the settings before continuing.

    • 5). Navigate to the Wireless Network tab of the configuration page, and enable the wireless security option. Choose a password to secure the wireless network. Save the new configuration, and exit.

    • 6). Boot each computer that will connect to the wireless network. Click the wireless network icon in the Windows notification area, and select the newly setup wireless network. Windows will ask for the password to connect. Enter the password assigned to the network in the earlier step. The DSL connection is now available for use by each computer.
