Along with the launch of Microsofts long awaited Windows 7 operating system for mobiles, there has been a good collection of handsets released to coincide with it. Amongst the likes of Samsung and LG, HTC have released a collection of models, one of which is the impressive new 7 Mozart.
Although Microsoft are keeping the specification of these new models very similar, the manufacturers obviously vary in terms design, and the HTC 7 Mozart boasts a look that both teenagers and business professionals would be proud to show off. A unibody aluminium case certainly looks better than the plastic that is found on many models, and it also gives the phone a sense of robustness. This casing extends all the way to the back of the phone, where it is only broken up by two triangular rubber pieces. These pieces are positioned to improve grip, but also give the phone a very different and eye catching look. Looking around the phone and the abscence of buttons is pleasing, the phone only features a camera button on the left hand side and a volume key with a micro USB port on the right. This leaves the top of the phone to look after the useful headphone jack and the on off switch. Whereas the HTC HD 7 boasts a massive 4.3" screen, this model approaches proceeding from a different angle and offers a smaller 3.7" screen. This may prove a wise move considering many handsets now are physically very large, and size wise the phone resembles the hugely popular HTC Desire. The display does show a stunning quality of image, thanks to a high 480 x 800 resolution coupled with a colour palette of up to 16 million.
In order to achieve a good standard of performance, all Windows 7 handsets feature a powerful 1Ghz processor. The HTC 7 Mozart incorporates a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip which fulfils this requirement. The phone has 512MB of RAM coupled with 576MB of ROM. Such high specification means the Mozart zips through all manner of tasks. Tilt the screen and the accelerometer auto rotates in an instance. Connectivity options as you would expect from a high end model are extensive and the unit features quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSPA. Thanks to this accessing the web whilst on the go is a simple and fast affair. If you are at home or work, then the WiFi facilities are invaluable, giving you the most complete on line experience. Windows 7 offers a helpful cloud back up system to its users, which is also a useful storage system, with up to 25GB of space free of charge on the Skydrive platform.
The Mozart 7 from HTC is a great option for both the business user as well as the normal consumer. Good features and thoughtful design result in a complete smartphone package.
