Batman Grooms Cake Ideas

    • Serving a groom's cake at a wedding is certainly not necessary but it can be a delicious way to showcase some of the groom's hobbies or interests on a day when most of the attention is focused on the bride. The cake may also serve as gifts to your guests as an old tradition is to give slices of groom's cake to any unmarried women at the wedding. According to Martha Stewart, legend has it that upon sleeping with the cake under her pillow, a women will dream of her future husband.

    Tiered Batman Cake

    • Make a miniature Batman themed wedding cake to serve as your groom cake. You can create a simple tiered cake by dividing a boxed cake mix between an 8-inch round cake pan and a 6-inch round cake pan. If you would like to make a larger cake, simply prepare another cake mix and use an additional 8-inch and 6-inch pan so that each tier of the cake consists of two layers of cake. Use frosting of your choice to stack the layers together and hold them in place. The cake can be decorated by covering it with dark blue tinted fondant to represent the night sky. Cut buildings out of gray fondant and use them to decorate the bottom tier of the cake to represent Gotham City. Apply yellow and black fondant to one side of the top tier to recreate the bat signal. A Batman action figure placed on top of the cake provides the perfect cake topper.

    Batmobile Cake

    • A Batmobile cake is sure to impress both Batman fans and car enthusiasts. While you can carve the cake out of a rectangle cake, that approach takes a skilled hand and some artistic talent. An easier method is to use a race car shaped pan which can be purchased from cake decorating stores or craft stores. Once the cake is finished, cover it with black tinted fondant and add a bat emblem or two so that it can be easily identified.

    Bat Signal Cupcakes

    • Wedding cupcakes have become more popular over the years and the same trend can be applied to the groom's cake. Decorate cupcakes with swirls of yellow buttercream frosting and top them with dark chocolate bat shapes to create bat signal cupcakes. Chocolate melts are available at some grocery and craft stores and can easily be melted in a microwave by following the package directions. Once the chocolate is melted, pour it into a parchment bag and then pipe the bat shapes onto wax paper. If you have difficulty creating the shape, place a printed bat signal under the wax paper to use as a guide. When the chocolate hardens, the bats can be gently peeled away from the wax paper and placed on top of the cupcakes.
