What Are the Best Treatments For Hair Loss? Your Hair Loss Treatment Options Explained

Are you sick and tired of waking up with less and less hair and want to know what the best treatments for hair loss and balding are? This article will explain what your options are so you don't end up getting a product that has no chance of working for you.
Besides for people that are taking certain medications, have a certain type of disease, or are experiencing a tremendous amount of traumatic stress, everyone pretty much experiences the same type of hair loss.
In fact, about 95% of all people develop this type of hair-loss, which is androgenetic alopecia (or male and female pattern baldness).
People that have male or female pattern baldness actually do so because of genetics and heredity.
What happened is that you inherited a gene that makes your hair follicles much more sensitive to a certain androgen or hormone called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT.
What this hormone does is bind to your follicles, making them smaller and smaller until they die and fall out.
Fortunately, there are a few effective non-surgical treatments for hair loss that are available to you.
But even though there are literally HUNDREDS of products on the market, only a select few will work.
In fact, there are only two specific medications that are actually approved by the FDA to be effective treatments for hair loss.
The most recently approved option is Finasteride, which is more commonly known as Propecia.
This is considered to be the top option for most men, simply because it has the highest success rate of all available treatments.
You need a prescription to take it though, which is probably because there is a risk of developing adverse sexual side effects like impotence, erectile dysfunction, and decreased libido.
Talk to your doctor to learn more about Finasteride.
The other option, which is considered much safer, is a topically-applied cream with Minoxidil in it.
It's a non-prescription medication so you don't need your doctor's approval to use it.
And even though it doesn't have a success rate quite as high as Finasteride, it's still considered to be one of the best treatments for hair loss.
I know this will be the first option I use when I start losing the hair on top of my head.
