How to Color Sea Salts

    • 1). Pour 3 cups of coarse sea salt into a glass jar. You can find coarse sea salt at any health food store. Choose a sea salt that is not flavored.

    • 2). Add 1/8 tsp. of powdered mineral pigment into the sea salt. These pigments can be purchased online at soap-making supply stores. Stir the sea salts for 2 minutes to 3 minutes with a spoon to incorporate the pigments into the salts completely.

    • 3). Add 1/2 tsp. of essential oil into the sea salts. Stir the sea salts for 3 minutes to combine the ingredients. The essential oils may dissolve a very small amount of sea salt, which will not effect the finished product.

    • 4). Seal the glass jar with a lid, which will preserve the aroma until use.
