Obesity is an overwhelming problem in the United States and around the world these days.
It is amazing to see so many products out there and companies that are geared toward helping people lose weight.
But, what about the people around the world who wish to GAIN weight? The majority of the health industry is geared toward helping people lose weight, and totally neglect people like me who try very hard to gain weight and be rid of there skinny, curvless bodies.
This is my story of how I overcame my high metabolism problems and finally obtained the results I was looking for.
When I entered high school I was around 5' 11'' tall and weighed a measly 130lbs.
I was a string bean.
It was so frustrating seeing all the guys on my football team getting bigger with little effort.
In fact, I was even jealous of the guys that were getting guts, not just the guys gaining muscle.
I love the game of football, and I knew that since I would be entering the JV and Varsity divisions of the sport I would be competing for a position on the field.
I decided then and there that I was going to do whatever it took to gain the muscle I was looking for.
I would do all the conditioning our coach laid out for us during after school practices and 2 a days, with constant weight and endurance training.
After practices I would then go to the YMCA and continue weight training.
At first I started seeing results and ended up weighing about 150 lbs.
by the end of my sophomore year.
But, then by the time football conditioning started back up 2 months later and still weight training at the YMCA on my own time I still wasn't getting any bigger.
I hit a plateau in my weight gaining efforts.
I didn't know what to do, so I went to my coach and asked him if he had any suggestions.
He just told me to eat more.
So I started pumping myself full of junk food and fatty foods and carbohydrates.
Anything I could get my hands on during the day that was edible I would scarf down.
Still no results.
By the end of my Junior year I only weighed 165lbs.
and was still on the Junior Varsity football team, once again failing to get a spot on the coveted Varsity football team.
By my senior year I was fed up and started turning to supplements.
I started taking protein shakes about 3 times a day and started taking Creatine supplements as well.
Little did I know that creatine actually dehydrates your muscles and gives you unbelievable cramps during workouts if you don't drink a ton of water all day long.
Obviously this wasn't the solution.
I did end up playing on the varsity squad my senior year and had a blast, but still regret not being able to play on the big stage earlier in my career.
After I graduated I ended up attending The Ohio State University for a business degree.
I still worked out about 3 times a week and pretty much accepted the fact that I was going to be stuck with this small stature for the rest of my days.
I worked out all the time with a couple of friends that I roomed with while in college and grew more and more frustrated as they kept getting bigger and gaining muscle mass.
At the end of my Sophomore of college during summer break I met up with one of my old buddies I graduated with who was about my same size with the same problems I had throughout our highschool career...
except HE WAS HUGE! He was my same height (about 6'1'' by now) but he weighed about 30 more pounds than I did! He was stacked! I was so jealous of him! I ended up asking what he did to get so huge and he just told me he found an amazing routine he had been implementing for the last 2 years.
I was so determined to get bigger at this point that I was willing to give anything a shot.
He told me the program he was working and I started it up as soon as I got back to school.
Within 4 weeks I noticed huge results in my core and upper body mass.
I had gained about 4 lbs.
and when I saw the scale for the first time after gaining weight it seemed like I had snapped.
I kept at it and a year later I had gained an amazing 21 lbs.
and looked amazing.
My friends thought I was taking steroids.
haha.
2 years later I am still gaining weight.
Granted I eat a lot of food still, but I have also gained about 38lbs.
and am in the best shape I have ever been in.
I am now engaged to be married and love my body.
If you want to check out the routine that helped me get to where I am today (which is going home during the summer and having people ask me what I am doing for the results instead of the other way around) then please feel free to check out the link below.
