- 1). Launch the Windows Live Photo Gallery--download and install a copy of the program if it wasn't included in your operating system (see "Resources").
- 2). Import the folder, containing the pictures you'd like to brighten, into Photo Gallery ("File" then "Include a folder in this gallery").
- 3). Use the "All Photos and Videos" folder tree on the left side of the program to locate the folder--the folder's pictures will load into Photo Gallery's main window.
- 4). Select a photo to work on and then click on the "Fix" at the top of the program. Click on the "Auto-Adjust Exposure" heading after the editing utilities load.
- 5). Drag the slider under the "Brightness" heading to the right to increase the brightness of your photo and drag the "Highlights" slider to the right to brighten the shadows in your photo.
- 6). Click on the "Back to gallery" option after you're done.
