- 1). Use inexpensive prepaid phones. These phones are easy to obtain without having a contract or performing a credit check. Change your phone as frequently as you like, which allows you to change you cell phone number often as well.
- 2). Restore your current phone to its factory settings and delete all your information. Save important phone numbers and information on a micro SD card or keep numbers in a phone book for safekeeping. Restoring the settings deletes any malware or spyware that can potentially cause phone tapping.
- 3). Pay attention to what is downloaded on your phone and do not download unsecured applications to your cell phone. This will open your phone for someone to tap into the phone.
- 4). Turn your Bluetooth off if you are not using it. A Bluetooth is a gateway to allow people to tap into your phone. Disable the Bluetooth through the phone menu options or cut the Bluetooth off manually.
