Hair Care and the Model Photograph Sitting
Looking your greatest for a model picture shoot is essential to getting great pictures. Now, this is not the end-all, but hair and makeup done correctly will help the picturegrapher do less editing after the session and you will look more natural in your photos. As a female model, isn't that the objective you have in mind - to look stunning?
Hair styling
You can style your hair in many different ways but for your model photography session you'll want to make sure your hair suits your facial features and will look great in your pictures. If you wear your hair shorter for instance, there are a lot short hair styles for teenagers.
Don't overdo it
With that said, I don't recommend that you have your hair fashion at much of a variance before drawing near to your model portfolio shoot because most teens and women do not especially like the way their hair looks when they first leave the stylist. It is preferred to leave your hair the way you regularly wear it with maybe a little difference to embellish your facial features.
With that said, if you wear your hair long, you can select from long and frizzed hair styles, wear it curly, layered or braided if you choose. Just use your imagination and think outside the box. But, keep in mind that you still want to look like yourself in your female modeling pictures, not someone else.
Face type
The look of each person's face is to some extent atypical. Some girls have round faces, some are thin, some are angular in shape and others have softer features which means that you will want to use the facial features you have to get the most out of your look for your modeling pictures.
The hair style for different model types
Here are a few hair styling tips to help you decide how to wear your hair for your fashion model sitting ...
- For a Rounded Face
You can slim down your round face and make it look longer by putting a part on the side of your hair. If you are a little overweight or a plus size model this will also make your face look slimmer.
Thin faces
If your face is too thin you can increase curls or breadth on each side of the face. This will give your face a wider shape.
The nose
Is your nose a little larger than you would like for your profesional model photos? No problem - just build it smaller! If you have a full nose and want it to be less noticible you may want to use a fuller hairstyle or alter by giving the crown an upswept look. This will take attention away from the nose.
Sharp faces
For facial features that have a sharp or angular look - Use lots of curls and waves to distract your chiseled cheeks. Also works well for your nose and jaw if they are too sharp.
High forehead
Many of today's top models have a low forehead. Can you make yours lower before going to your photo shoot?
If you are like the oodles of female teens and adults who have high foreheads, a simple answer is to lower it by brushing your hair in bangs. This will give evenness to your face and the impression of that "model" look.
Low forehead
My model photography shoot is tomorrow! What can I do about my low forehead?
Again, no worries. Just style and design a fullness at the crown and use straight lines so that you lengthen your looks. You will look truly beautiful in your model photographs!
The strong chin
If you have a square chin and want it to be less noticible you may want to use a fuller hairstyle at the crown. Now your chin will not be the focal point of the photo.
What about the narrow chin?
Yes, this is easy to correct! Just wear your hair longer and style it with a fuller look at the chin to round out the chin and face.
