Exodus of People and the Cheap International Flights

It is quite normal that people try to find the cheap flight tickets for their air travel needs. At the same time, the airlines try to maximize their revenues by offering cheap international flights and low cost domestic flights at one time and increasing the prices of the tickets at some other times. These ups and downs continue and both the airlines and the passengers keep on continuing this tug of war related to flight tickets in the normal times.

But, there could be emergency situations which require that the airlines keep aside their profit-making concerns aside and drift away from the normal ticketing practices to provide the flight services in times of emergencies. These situations, when the airlines are required to enlist their support, are when there is an impending crisis developing in the foreign countries or even within the country and there is a need to take people out from the troubled spots. This has happened in the past, in the war zone or civil war areas of the foreign countries where the people of other nationalities feel unsafe and want to return back home. Usually, the governments may take the services of their national carriers to bring these people back home, bearing the full costs of these flights. Therefore, when the lives of the nationals are in danger and there is a mass exodus from the unrest areas, the cheap flight tickets are not the things which are searched for but there are special flights which take the people back from the disturbance-prone areas.

However, it is not always that the airlines do not charge anything from the passengers in similar circumstances. There have been instances wherein the people moving from one part of the country to the other have been charged higher prices of the otherwise cheap flight tickets since the demand for tickets on those sectors have gone up. This especially happens when the movement of the people is not done due to any emergency situation and it is not initiated at the end of the government. Airlines, whether private or national carriers, do not fly emergency services unless there are specific directions and orders from the government and therefore it is business as usual for the airlines. If the private airlines do provide the services of priceless tickets in order to facilitate the movement of people, this might go against the government policy and the airline might put itself in trouble for aiding an unapproved act.
