Nicolas Cage told the media gathered at the Ghost Rider press conference that the only thing he had in the works was National Treasure 2. Apparently Cage was being...well...cagey. Just two days after making that announcement The Hollywood Reporter breaks the news that Cage has signed on to star in a live action version of Walt Disney Pictures' The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Walt Disney Pictures is moving ahead on a feature film based on the classic story, with Cage's Saturn Film company partnering with Todd Garner's production company to produce the film.
The new movie will be based on the classic poem by Johann Wolfgang Goethe and set in contemporary times. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal are in the process of working on the screenplay.
