The Sims 3 Ambitions expansion has been released for a few weeks now and it is proving to be a wonderful addition for The Sims 3.
In the base game, your sims run off to work and you don't see them until their work day is done.
This often leaves you to only be entertained by watching the maid clean your house or watching neighbors ring your doorbell.
With the latest expansion pack, you now get to actively help your sim advance in their career.
Of course the base job careers do not allow you to actively aide your sim daily in advancing their career such as the military career paths or the athletic careers.
The architect career path is very interactive and is especially well liked for sim fans that enjoy building and decorating homes.
For the architectural design career, your sim will be asked to perform various remodeling and designing tasks such as creating a "single lady's den" or remodeling the "powder room".
You are then given a budget; (although it is not necessary to stick to 100%, the sims are quite forgiving if you go a little over budget) and you are provided with a list of items they want included in the remodel or redesign project.
It's important to pay attention to what the sim tells you and if you happen to know a sim personally; you might know some details about their personality that can aid you in the remodeling project such as if a sim loves the outdoors or is neat.
In the beginning of your design career, you will have very low budgets from customers but as you advance, the budgets get higher and the projects will be bigger too.
You will make your customers happy if you can go beyond what they ask to make things look nice too.
It's amazing how a few extra pieces of artwork, furniture or light fixtures beyond what they ask for sits well with them.
You can help your sims experience by purchasing a drafting table and a stool and put them to work on researching architect design right away.
More experience will result in more happy clients, more pay and job advances.
