Quick Tips For DIY Home Painting

House painting is a can be a messy job, even for the best and most seasoned professional painters.
I have a few tips that I will share with you to cut some of the mess down.
Painting is something that you have to be properly set up for.
You have to devise a plan of action.
Is the wall ready for painting, if it's not what are you going to do to it? If you are going to put holes in it or if you are going to repair some holes obviously do it before painting.
Here are some very basic painting tips.
Any wall repairs after sanding should be primed, primer has the effect of sealing the repair mark so it does not flash through the finish coat as a dull spot.
Another reason to use primer is if you have a dark color it will hide the dark color at a lesser cost in material.
On the other hand if you want to paint a dark color then a dark tinted primer will make a good first coat.
You probably have seen a lot of people hold the roller by hand and standing on a chair rolling the top part of the wall and then getting off the chair to roll the rest of it to the floor.
This looks like hard work to me.
Invest a couple dollars for a wooden broom handle that has a screw end on it so you can screw your paint roller handle onto it.
Now it is easier to dip the roller into the tray and then paint the wall from ceiling to floor without using a chair or a ladder.
Write down somewhere the color code of the paint that you used and the actual paint and paint company that you used on this wall of a room for future reference in case you need to repaint something in our room.
It's a lot easier to go in with the code for the paint than it is to go in with a piece of the paint to get matched again.
You're painting tools are very important if you buy a cheap brush you'll most certainly get a cheap finish.
Those nylon inexpensive brushes leave paint lines in your brushwork and are very hard to edge with leaving irregular finish.
Higher quality brushes of course cost more but you're getting a quality paint finish also.
If you're investing a lot of time into painting a room you should spend the extra few dollars on a good quality brush.
Paint rollers are also important, consider the fiber pile on the roller try not to use a very thin pile on the roller because this will definitely leave inconsistent looking painting on your walls.
The smallest pile I use on painting walls is half inch.
Keep your roller wet all the time don't work it until it is dry.
