How to Reset a Scantronic 9851 Alarm

    Customer Reset

    • 1). Look at the LCD display, taking note that the wrench icon is dark.

    • 2). Press the keypad numbers to enter your access code.

    • 3). Press the check mark icon button. The display clears and the system resets.

    Remote Reset and Engineer Reset

    • 1). Look at the LCD display, noting that the wrench icon is glowing. If your alarm is connected by a telephone line to an alarm receiving center, you may be able to do a remote reset, or your alarm company may have to send an engineer out to your home to check your system and reset it.

    • 2). Press the keypad numbers to enter your access code. The display will read, "Select?"

    • 3). Press the button marked with a check mark icon. The display will show a four-digit reset code. Write down the code on a piece of paper. The code will display for 30 seconds. If you miss it, enter your code and press the check mark icon button again.

    • 4). Call your alarm company's alarm receiving center. The company will ask you some questions to verify that you are who you say you are. They will ask you about the alarm you're calling about to reset, and they will then request the reset code that you wrote down. If the company doesn't need to send an engineer out to check your system and reset it, they will tell you an "Anti Code."

    • 5). Type in the numbers of the "Anti Code" on the keypad. The display will clear and the service light will go off. The system is now reset.
