How to Draw Tables in Photoshop

    • 1). Click "File" then "New" on the Photoshop main menu. Set your desired size and resolution for your table in the dialog box. Set the color mode to CMYK if you plan to print the table and RGB if you plan to display the table online.

    • 2). Select the "Rectangle Tool" on the Photoshop toolbar. Draw the outer box of the table in your workspace.

    • 3). Click the ruler on the left hand side of your workspace and drag your mouse outward to create a guideline for your table columns. Space the columns according to your needs (usually about a half inch to an inch wide) with the guides.

    • 4). Select the "Line Tool" on the Photoshop toolbar. Hold down the Shift key and use the tool to draw a series of vertical lines inside of the table along the guidelines you set.

    • 5). Click the ruler on the top hand side of your workpace and drag them down to create row guidelines. Select the "Line Tool" again, hold down the "Shift" key and draw horizontal lines for your rows. You now have your table.

    • 6). Add text inside each box in your table using the "Horizontal Type Tool," located on the toolbar.
