In October of 2012 there was a huge debate about the Chrysler's Jeep Brand which had moved to Fiat in Italy.
Well it turns out that Fiat is contemplating moving all of their manufacturing from Italy to China.
Now mind you Italy's unemployment rate is 22% now, so losing more jobs is unfortunate.
When Mitt Romney the then presidential nominee mentioned this in OH while campaigning the Jeep Factory there in Toledo was completely upset, union workers really worried.
Of course, the Union Bosses are Obama Supporters and staunch Democrats.
Chrysler came back immediately and said they were not planning on moving or closing the Toledo Jeep factory, so, next, the Democrats called Mitt Romney a liar.
However he didn't lie and he was reporting on two facts; one, a Bloomberg BusinessWeek story about Fiat's Jeep Factories, and; two, an investor conference call where they actually discussed all this with shareholders.
Nevertheless, the Democrats and left-wing news media made it out to be a major misstatement by Romney, for which is was nothing of the sort.
Now then, why is this important? Well, it is very typical of socialist governments, unions, and large companies.
You see, they always say that they aren't going to close the factory and move it somewhere else, all the while they are building the factory in another country whether it be in Jarez Mexico, China, or elsewhere.
The employees are left holding the bag, and this is why we now have the 60-day rule where you have to warn workers that their jobs "might" be terminated prior to giving them pink-slips.
It has happened so much in the past that they passed that law.
So, for Chrysler to say that factory in Toledo won't be moved or closed carries very little weight to reality, further Italy's Jeep leadership have already been making deals in China, so, the chances are pretty good that in the future those jobs will migrate from our shores, which completely defeats Obama's ascertain that he saved jobs by bailing out the auto industry, or that Romney is going to send jobs overseas if elected and Obama won't if reelected.
The auto industry just doesn't have a very good track record when it comes to getting "the china price" or moving factories, so their words ring hollow, just as President Obama has a dismal track record of telling the truth to the American People, creating or saving jobs, or keeping his word.
So, maybe the Ohio and Michigan autoworkers ought to consider carefully which candidate they vote for.
But hey, it's a free country and if they wish to cut their own throats, that's their business, it's none of mine.
Vote how you will, but be careful what you wish for.
Please consider all this and think on it.
