- 1). Turn off your computer and remove the power cable.
- 2). Remove all screws from the sides of the plastic frame that surrounds the LCD screen. If there are rubber pads covering the screws, use the tip of your screwdriver to pop them off.
- 3). Pry the frame off the screen by the sides and corners. The rectangular inverter board will now be visible below the screen.
- 4). Check the cables that connect at either end of the inverter board to make sure they are secure. If they aren't, unplug them and plug them back into their respective ports on the board, making sure they are secure. If the inverter board is damaged beyond repair, proceed to step 5.
- 5). Unplug the cable and remove the screws holding the inverter board in place. Remove the board and set it aside. Fit a new inverter board (available from your local computer supply store or online) in the old one's place and reverse the steps for reassembly.
