- 1). Break the chocolate into pieces and place in the bowl.
- 2). Heat at 50 percent power for 30 seconds and stir.
- 3). Repeat this step several times until the chocolate is almost melted.
- 4). Stir the almost-melted chocolate until the rest of the chocolate melts. Don't return it to the microwave or the chocolate will scorch.
- 1). Break the chocolate into smaller pieces.
- 2). Fill the bottom of the double boiler with water, place on the stovetop, and turn the heat on low.
- 3). Add the chocolate pieces to the top of the double boiler when the water is hot. The water should not be boiling.
- 4). Stir the chocolate once it is almost melted, until the chocolate becomes smooth. The chocolate pieces will look shiny when the mixture is ready to be stirred.
- 5). Remove the top of the boiler from the heat as soon as the chocolate is smooth.
