- 1). Unplug the range from the wall outlet.
- 2). Open the oven door, then remove the screws from underneath the front of the ceramic top.
- 3). Lift the ceramic top, then place a sturdy object underneath it to hold it up. Alternatively, have a partner hold the top up.
- 4). Remove the screws securing the burner cross braces to the underside of the top, then remove the cross braces.
- 5). Lift the top up and off of the range. Place the top upside down on a solid surface, then transfer the brackets on the front and back of the top to the new top, if necessary.
- 6). Place the new top on the range, aligning the tabs on the back with the notches under the control panel. Elevate the top with a sturdy object, or have your partner hold it up.
- 7). Reinstall the burners and cross-braces.
- 8). Lower the main top, then secure it into position using the screws that you removed in Step 2.
- 9). Restore power to the range.
