There are many flight schools in Canada. Courses and programs vary and often furnish opportunities to gain private, commercial and recreational accreditation as a pilot. Opportunities are not limited to these fields, however. You can gain helicopter training, seaplane time or even experience on the technical side of aircraft maintenance. - Whether you are looking to become a professional/commercial pilot or just want to pursue a dream hobby, the Aero Academy Flight Center is one of the longest running schools in Canada. It is located in London, Ontario at the London International Airport. The Aero Academy Flight Center also offers certified sport instruction for individuals with a daredevil bent.
- The Calgary Flight Training Centre (CFTC), located in Calgary, Alberta, provides professional as well as recreational training. It also offers night flying certification, as well as training in single or multi-engine aircraft. Students must be at least 17 years old to train for a private license and at least 18 to enroll in the night flying and commercial certification programs.
- Air-Hart Aviation, located in Kelowna, British Columbia, offers commercial, private and recreational training, as well as courses in the flying of seaplanes (floatplanes). The school offers a higher number of solo-hours to students flying seaplanes than many other schools can offer due to insurance issues. Hourly sessions in the floatplanes range from $208 to $333 (U.S.) dollars.
- The Professional Flight Centre (PFC), located in Delta, British Columbia, has over 23 training aircraft. Helicopter training is also available, as well as courses in aircraft maintenance. The center welcomes foreign students, which make up half its overall business. For its visiting students, PFC can arrange low-cost housing, transportation and even language assistance for English as Second Language (ESL) students.
