- 1). First get to File Explore. Click My Computer on the desktop.
- 2). Right click on C: drive and select Properties.
Note : You can do this with all your hard drives and SHOULD. Even removable hard drives (USB / Firewall) - 3). In the new little Properties Windows select the "Tools" tab.
Click the "Defragment Now..." Button. (The second button down) - 4). Disk Defragmenter will popup. Now select the hard drive you want to defrag and select "Analyze" button at the bottom of the program.
After it's done it will popup a small alert window, select "View Report" button. - 5). Now in the top window of the popup scroll down and look over "Volume Fragmentation" if it is greater then 10% I recommend defragmenting the drive.
so hit defragment button and wait.
WARNING: Do not install or do anything on the computer while you defrag. It could cause major issues. Walk away until it is done.
