Maltese Puppy Training and Working With Their Personality

Maltese dogs are one of the most adored and admired breed of dogs in the toy group.
Known for their stunning silky pure white coat, are renowned for their lavish long straight hair.
Originated somewhere in the Central Mediterranean Area, these dogs grow up to weigh 4-8 lb and stand up to 8-10 inches.
They feature large black eyes, a black nose and long heavily feathered ears.
These dogs considered as a hypoallergenic breed are perfect for those who suffer from allergies because they shed less than any other dogs.
To look their best, they also require good grooming and brushing, for about 3 times a week may do.
Because of their low set droopy ears, they will also require constant cleaning of their ears to avoid moisture or infection.
Their main requirement will be that you spend time with them.
Maltese dogs regard themselves as part of your family and will anticipate being engaging in family activities.
Maltese puppies that are well bred have a lovely stable, out going and sound temperament.
They are very loving and like to prove it you everyday.
They are very brave and have keen senses, whenever they feel a slight disturbance on the household, they will bark all the way and some even say they are without fear.
They tend to be protective and even territorial.
Maltese puppies are very small and in their eyes, we human beings look very large to them for they might be scared if we treat them incorrectly.
So in treating them, we should care for them with gentleness and sensitivity.
In training a Maltese puppy, avoiding boredom will most likely help the puppy learn quickly and learn it eagerness.
Keep your sessions short, intense and fun and remember to use positive reinforcement and praise and reward to train them for they respond well to these methods.
Early socialization for Maltese puppies is a must.
Getting them exposed to the different kinds of things including different people, dogs and other creatures will help them to be confident, courageous, lively, and playful when they are fully grown.
