- The kickflip involves spinning the skateboard while airborne. Push down on the tail of the board while jumping forward. Professional skateboarder Chris Tory recommends flipping the board with the toes of your dominant foot. Lift your feet to allow the board to flip. Lower your feet onto the top of the board as it completes the kickflip. Lean back to balance on the rear wheels. Rotate your shoulders side to side to execute the space walk. Lower the front wheels to complete the kick flip space walk maneuver.
- For another variation of the space walk, add in a heelflip. As opposed to flipping the board with your toes, flip the board with the heel of your lead foot. Push down on the back of the board while jumping forward. Kick your heel against the outer edge of the board. Lift your feet to allow the board to spin. Lower your feet as the board completes the full rotation. Lean back to balance on the rear wheels. Swing your hips and shoulders to execute the space walk. Lean forward to complete the trick.
- The board doesn't leave your feet during the Nollie space walk. Position your lead foot near the front of the deck. Push down on the front of the board while leaping backwards. Raise your knees to level out the board in the air. Lean back to land on the rear wheels. Balance on the rear wheels while swinging your shoulders from side to side. As you lose balance, lower the front wheels onto the ground to complete the Nollie space walk.
- During the shove-it variation, the skateboard rotates 180 degrees in the air while remaining parallel to the ground. Push down on the tail of the skateboard while jumping forward. The Berrics website recommends kicking your feet in opposing directions to rotate the board. Lift your feet as the board rotates 180 degrees. Lower your feet to stop the board from spinning. Lean back to balance on the rear wheels. Swing your shoulders from side to side to execute the space walk.
