  1. Upon finishing the book, what was your initial reaction? Do you feel satisfied with this final installment in the Twilight Series? Why or why not?


  1. When Bella and Edward consummate their marriage, Bella ends up bruised and beaten, yet incredibly happy. How did this make you feel? Did you identify more with Edward’s or Bella’s feelings afterwards?
  2. How did you feel about Bella’s pregnancy? Would you put yourself in Rosalie’s camp, which fought to keep the baby, or do you identify more with Edward and Carlisle, who wished to terminate the pregnancy? Did your thoughts on this change at all as the pregnancy progressed?
  3. Think back to your opinion on Bella’s impending transformation into a vampire as it developed over the course of the series. Once Bella became an immortal, did your opinion change at all? Would you say that you are happy with Bella’s transformation, or not? Why?
  4. Once Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, did you feel glad that his romantic tension with Bella evaporated, sad for the end to this part of their relationship, or something else?
  5. Did you find Charlie’s reaction to Bella’s transformation credible? What about other points of conflict resolution, such as the feud with the werewolves—did you think the book dealt sufficiently with these problems?


  1. During the final conflict with the Volturi, Bella exhibits incredible supernatural ability. Did you find this talent surprising or not, given Bella’s ability to shield her mind while still human?
