- 1). Set up sprinklers on your Bermuda grass lawn. Test the sprinklers to ensure all areas of the lawn are covered.
- 2). Place a pan on your lawn to measure how much water is applied.
- 3). Turn your sprinklers on around 6 a.m. Allow them to run until the water depth in the pan is between 1/2 and 1 inch. Write down the length of time the sprinklers ran for future reference.
- 4). Run the sprinklers when you see the first signs of drought stress in your Bermuda grass lawn. Key signals of stress include leaf discoloration and wilting, or when footprints remain in the lawn after it's walked on. Healthy grass should spring back into place after being stepped on.
