- The Citation line is a family of small jet aircraft intended for private business use. In 2010, Cessna manufactured nine different Citation models, ranging from the entry-level Citation Mustang to the top-of-the-line Citation X. The models vary in size, performance, engine type and passenger capacity, as well as in the features and options available.
- All Citation models are equipped with twin jet engines. The Mustang employs two Pratt & Whitney PW615F engines, each producing 1,460 lbs. of thrust, while the Citation X utilizes two Rolls-Royce AE3007C1 engines, each producing 6,764 lbs. of thrust. The intervening Citation models are equipped with engines manufactured by Williams International or Pratt & Whitney.
- The Citation Mustang has a wingspan of 43 feet, 2 inches; a length of 40 feet, 7 inches; and a tail height of 13 feet, 5 inches. Its ramp weight is 8,730 lbs., and its fuel capacity is 2,580 lbs. In its standard configuration, the Mustang seats five passengers. The Mustang is certified for single-pilot operation. The Citation X has a wingspan of 63 feet, 11 inches; a length of 72 feet, 4 inches; and a tail height of 19 feet, 3 inches. Its ramp weight is 36,400 lbs. and its fuel capacity is 12,931 lbs. Its standard seating configuration accommodates nine passengers. The Citation X requires a two-person crew.
- The Citation Mustang has a maximum cruising speed of 340 knots and a maximum operating altitude of 41,000 feet. Its minimum takeoff distance is 3,110 feet, and its minimum landing distance is 2,380 feet. It has a range of 1,150 nautical miles. The Citation X has a maximum cruising speed of 525 knots and a maximum altitude of 51,000 feet. Its minimum takeoff distance is 5,140 feet, and its minimum landing distance is 3,400 feet. It has a range of 3,070 nautical miles.
- The Citation Mustang is equipped with a Garmin G1000 avionics suite, which includes two primary flight displays and a 15-inch multifunction display. The avionics systems of the Citation X include a Primus 2000 autopilot system, dual primary flight displays and multifunction displays, an Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System and dual flight management systems with integrated GPS.
