- 1). Consult your local library to see what books on Thai language they have available. Check for multimedia courses, such as audiovisual courses that involve the use of multiple senses. Check also for online programs your library may subscribe to that you may be able to access from your home computer with a valid library card.
- 2). Consult local academic libraries, particularly if you have any institutional affiliation (such as being an alumnus). Academic libraries may have language learning resources that may not be available in your local public library, particularly if a language or a geographical area is a specialty of that institution.
- 3). Check local academic institutions in your area to see if any schools offer non-credit Thai language programs. If you are already enrolled in a school, check to see if Thai classes are available as an elective. Few universities offer majors in Thai language, but check to see if yours does.
- 4). Find local community centers that offer language classes and see if Thai classes are offered. Seek out Thai communities in your area and see if any classes are offered.
- 5). Consult classifieds to see if private instructors are offering lessons in Thai. Place a classified ad that expresses interest in finding a Thai instructor if you cannot find a listing for a Thai teacher. Try both print and online sources.
- 6). Visit Thai and Southeast Asian markets in your area and look for classified bulletin boards. Place an advertisement there if you do not see anyone offering to teach Thai.
