It was Monday morning at 4:30am and I got up to get ready to leave to the airport, It was going to be the first time I have ever flown in an airplane.
I was nervous as heck.
Our flight was on Delta and we were to have a layover in Atlanta Ga, it was only a 45 minute layover.
As we made it to the airport traffic wasn't that bad and we made it on time.
We got our itinerary out and got our tickets and baggage set, I could not believe that we had to pay another $25.
00 for our baggage after we have spent almost $500 on our ticket.
We had to go throw security, everything has to be scanned.
I thought that it was a good thing because of 9/11 and all so it showed me our tax dollars were working, Once we were done there we continued on to the waiting area where we can get on the plane, Our flight was to leave at 6:33am and it was on time to leave.
We go on the plane and found our seats.
They were a little close to each other even though they were in coach I thought there would be a little more room.
When everyone, of the people were on the plane which by the way was a 747.
They went throw all the things for safety and we were no our way.
The plane started to move and we were on the runway, Here we go we started to roll forward.
My first seat on the plane was by the window.
I grab my wife's hand as I was nervous as heck and the faster we rolled forward I gripped her hand, Up we went and it did not seem so bad now almost like a car ride with out the potholes.
while for the next hour I was intrigued by the views of the buildings and cars until I could not see them anymore.
once we were on top of the clouds it look like a snow storm hit and was covered in white.
The next thing I know is that the Pilot comes over the intercom and says that we are at 39,000 feet and it will be a smooth ride for the next hour.
The flight attendants cam with something to snack on and drinks for anyone that wants something.
I have never thought that it would be like this at all.
when you fly my mind changed about flying.
When we got to about 20 minutes to landing the pilot comes on and tells everyone the time, temperature, and where we are landing at.
Along with making sure everyone stays buckled for landing until we stop all together.
As we came down, it was not as bad, as I had thought it was a somewhat smooth landing before we stopped at the gate.
Over all I think that people, that have never flown should try it at least once even if it is only a city or two away, make that one of the things to do if you have a bucket list.
You will not regret it.
It saves you time and give you more time to do the things that you want to do.
Visiting people in places you would not normally drive.
Saves you on gas, time, and wear on your cars.
