What would this country be like with absolutely no gun control at all? Anyone who wanted to could carry a weapon strapped to his side.
This is a possible outcome I would like to explore in a work of fiction.
Nothing written here is true at this time or is it supposed to be about anyone currently living or dead.
If it sounds like I'm writing about you or someone you know it's by accident.
It had been one of the most interesting elections in history when the Republicans won the elections of 2024 by a slant margin.
All the years of trying to change the way electoral votes in as many states as possible are counted had finally paid off.
The work of suppressing votes whenever they could was also a big factor in this election.
A majority ruled the Senate and the House.
The Republican bubble was riding high again.
Their agenda would become the rule of the land.
For good or bad what they wanted would be what happened and no liberal was going to stop them.
The President at that time, Samuel Thompson, who had been born in the great state of Kentucky, was poised to make big changes in all walks of American Life.
He thought to himself that for too long those lilies liveried dam liberals had been in the driver seat.
He would lower taxes more than ever before, he would cut spending dramatically.
He would get the country fiscal house in order.
That went on for a year and a half, more people had become homeless than ever before.
Riots became a frequent event in most of the larger cities across the nation.
Food shortages because of global Warming threatened most places.
What did President Thompson think should be done? He decides more people should have the chance to protect themselves.
He proposed eliminating the gun bans that had been placed by the recent administrations of the past.
He who had always been a member of the NRA said to himself why shouldn't people be able to protect themselves? So a bunch of new laws came into effect no one needed to have a background check to purchase a gun.
Anyone who wanted one could get whatever weapon their hearts desired.
It was a case of freedom taken to the extreme.
It wasn't long before gun fights broke out here and there.
Innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire getting killed.
Mass murders by people with a gripe against the government also were on the rise.
With the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer crimes of theft and crimes of kidnapping became commonplace.
The rich were thought of by some of the poor as a cash cow to be exploited if possible.
Others just decided to do whatever was needed to survive even if it was illegal, these were desperate times.
With guns everywhere no one could predict if today they would either live or if it was their day to have their ticket punched.
Some no longer cared life had become cheaper.
It had become a here today gone tomorrow world.
Life had so little value in this place.
What I've written is just one of many possible futures, but what we do today has consequences in the future.
We each of us has a choice in the world and shaping the way it will become.
Think wisely, don't be short sighted.
