If this is true, then much of what is referred to as "wisdom" today is unbridled foolishness.
To understand worldly wisdom, we need to see how fools respond to life.
Here are some of the responses that come from fools according to the Bible: 1.
They refuse to acknowledge that God has a rightful place in their lives; 2.
They do not prepare for their eternal destiny; 3.
They are only thinking of this present life with no regard for the next; 4.
They will not accept wise counsel; 5.
They will not respect the wise; 6.
They "hide hatred with lying lips;" 7.
They slander other people; 8.
They delight in doing mischief; 9.
They enjoy stirring up strife; 10.
They sport their folly; 11.
They cannot handle honor with a grateful heart; 12.
They do not know how to be wise; 13.
They are totally bankrupt when it comes to godly wisdom; 14.
They do everything they please without a thought of the consequences; 15.
They despise the godly instructions of their parents; 16.
They are a grief to their mother and father; 17.
They have no regard for facts that rebuke their wicked lifestyle; 18.
They speak things that are perverse; 19.
They have very little peace of mind; 20.
They are self-centered in all areas of their life; 21.
They think their ways are right; 22.
They are not to be trusted with things that require responsible actions; 23.
They will always go back to their old sinful ways; 24.
They never learns from their past mistakes; 25.
They are in total darkness; 26.
They must be restrained so they will not destroy themselves and others.
They have no idea how to love God and others.
They are so occupied with their own ways, they cannot understand that what they are doing is affecting other people adversely.
The other side is, fools do not care how many other people they hurt.
They only cares for their own self-advancement.
They are determined to be their own god.
Truly the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.
Loving God and others is a far better way than just looking out for "Number One.
" The wisdom of God is just the opposite of the above list.
True wisdom starts with a respect for the True and Living God.
It starts with the attitude of "Lord, not my will, but Your will be done.
