- 1). Start standing up straight. Suck your stomach in and tuck your butt under. You need to keep your core strong as well as your limbs. Put your arms above your head. Stretch yours arms straight and strong. Try to keep your arms beside your ears so it's like they are squeezing your head.
- 2). Point your leg foot to the side so that your whole body is sideways and held flat. Flatten your hands and stretch to the side as you reach for the ground. Kick your right leg. Press your palms into the ground and lock your elbows in place (block).
- 3). Continue the kick with the right leg over your head. After the leg passes over your head allow your left foot to leave the floor and follow the right leg. Continue to push against the floor. Point your toes in the air.
- 4). Set your right foot on the ground after it has passed completely over your body. As your right foot touches down bring your body up sideways. Keep your arms stretched up by your ears and straight. Keep your stomach sucked in, butt tucked under and legs straight.
- 5). Practice on this side several times (this is a left cartwheel). Then practice on the other side, right foot pointed. That is a right cartwheel.
