- 1). Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Rub four similar sized bone-in chicken pieces with 1 tsp. of olive oil or melted butter each to create crispy skin.
- 2). Place the chicken pieces into a 9-inch by 13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the chicken with salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, or dried rosemary and thyme to taste. Rub the seasonings all over the chicken pieces to evenly coat.
- 3). Wash your hands with warm, soapy water and dry them with a paper towel after handing the raw chicken.
- 4). Place the baking dish on your oven's center rack. Bake the chicken pieces for 50 to 60 minutes, or until an instant-read food thermometer indicates it's at least 165 degrees F when inserted into the thickest portion of the meat.
