Booze isn"t good for your muscles

Booze isn't good for muscles

The weekends may be your time to blow off a little steam and have a few drinks of beer or other forms of alcohol. If your weight training and looking to add muscles to that physique of yours then alcohol is a big no-no. The effects alcohol has is far too negative to even contemplate consuming. Booze can have a catabolic effect on your muscles this basically means it will stop them from developing properly. Of course it can be so tempting after a hard week of work and you're thinking "well a few cans of beer won't hurt". Unfortunately it will hurt your muscles, I'm sorry to bring this to your attention but those are the facts. So in conclusion to the matter of booze, if you are serious in your quest for muscles then try and keep your drinking habits to an absolute minimum.

What I and many doctors recommend is the consumption of water. While you are working hard in the gym and sweating buckets, getting dehydrated, you should have a bottle of water handy. You have to replace the sweat fluid excreting your body. What you should actually do is hydrate yourself before you become thirsty. This means you should be drinking water throughout the day and not just during your gym session. If you end up suffering dehydration at the gym, then this will affect your workout performance and the way your body stores fat.

Take a bottle of water to the gym and sip every other minute. Do not guzzle down the water because you will end up interrupting your workout with the incessant need to pee. Sipping every other minute will ensure you stay hydrated. Outside of the gym you should attempt to drink at lest three litres of water a day. Most people think it's two litres but tests have proven three is actual recommended dose.
