Getting Emotional Support - Learning About the Best Way to Control Emotions

Getting emotional in the workplace is frowned upon and is not accepted as a valid means of expressing emotions or strong feelings.
Expressing feelings in such a visual way is just not tolerated in most working environments.
This does not means that we cannot express strong feelings and if we have opinions.
The secret of course is in how we do this.
It is rather like texting and driving at the same time, as somebody once remarked.
It is just not wise to do the two things at the same time! We can get emotional for many different reasons and we have to control our feelings of sadness, frustration, desperation and anger.
The latter is now referred to as 'anger management', rather than simply losing your temper! The Head of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon recently was accused of getting emotional in an interview when he had to address the question of possible nepotism with regard to his son-in-law and whether he had been given preferential treatment.
He reacted rather emotionally and later apologised.
A recent study conducted by the University of Iowa suggests that about 80% of women in relationships actually complain about not getting emotional support when they most need it! But there is the much more interesting statistic which suggests that both men and women, about 33%, complain that the main eroding factor in a relationship is the vexed problem of getting too much informational support.
In other words, we give far too much advice to our partners which is neither wanted nor necessary.
There are many ways in getting emotional support in a relationship.
This is essential if we are to get over moments of depression, discouragement and anger.
Having a person who can listen empathetically can give advice without sounding bossy, is an essential way of building a strong relationship.
But there are many other ways in helping us balance feelings, increase positive thoughts and help us cope with mood swings.
We may be going through a depression or we are going to need all the support we can get so that we do not over react or get emotional in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I have just read about a herbal remedy for mood swings, depression and anxiety which I know has helped thousands of people.
