A tractor is a type of wheeled vehicle that aids in performing landscaping and agricultural tasks. Compact tractors are smaller versions that are more cost-effective and convenient for home project use. Compact tractors are highly versatile, providing function for several different tasks. - Compact tractors have a trailer hitch on the back that allows them to pull small flatbed trailers. This is useful when transporting heavy objects, such as cement bags or firewood, over short distances. While the trailers that attach to a compact tractor are small, they can carry up to 1 ton of weight without issue. Some compact tractors come with multiple sizes of trailer hitches to allow for towing versatility.
- A snowplow can attach to the front of a compact tractor, allowing you to clear walkways and roads conveniently. Compact tractors have the power to push large amounts of snow out of the way without becoming stuck because the snowplows that attach to a compact tractor are smaller than regular plows, clearing a road or driveway might take several passes.
- A bucket attachment is an optional upgrade on many compact tractors. This allows you to scoop and move dirt, rocks and manure using the tractor bucket. Additionally, you can use the bucket to lift heavy objects, such as large landscaping rocks, in and out of truck beds and trailers.
- Agricultural attachments are available to attach behind and beneath compact tractors. There are several agricultural attachments available for preparing soil, planting seeds, and harvesting hay and other farming tasks. Each attachment might require special calibration.
- Lawn mower attachments are available to mount beneath a compact tractor. This allows the tractor to function as a riding lawn mower. Lawn mower attachments vary in size to best suit the desired grass-cutting job. Some compact tractors are not compatible with mower attachments.
