- 1). Move the mower to a level surface, such as the floor of a garage.
- 2). Check the air pressure for the tires on the mower with a tire gauge. The front mower drive tires should be at 8 psi and the front mower rear tires should be at 15 psi (pounds per square inch). The large tires on the mower should be at 45 psi.
- 3). Adjust the mower deck to the desired cutting height and then turn the blades on the mower deck so they face sideways.
- 4). Measure from the tip of the right mower blade to the floor with a ruler or a leveling gauge. Repeat this process for the left mower blade. If the measurements for each blade do not match, you will need to adjust the level of the mower deck.
- 5). Raise up the mower deck and place a block of wood under one side. Remove the snap ring on the post above the wheel and remove the wheel from the mower deck.
- 6). Adjust the washers on the wheel to raise or lower the level of the mower and then replace the snap ring to secure the wheel
- 7). Repeat steps 5 and 6 on the opposite side of the mower deck.
- 8). Place a level on the front of the mower to see if the adjustments in steps 5 and 6 have leveled the mower deck.
