Does Not Operate

• The LG dehumidifier may not start working when you power on the unit for several reasons. First, check that the power cord is plugged into a working outlet. Connect a second device to the outlet to ensure it is receiving power, and replace the fuse or reset the circuit breaker in your fuse box if needed.
  
  Next, check the water bucket. When the water bucket reaches a certain level, the dehumidifier will automatically stop to prevent spillover. To empty the water bucket, grip the handle of the bucket on the bottom of the unit and slide it out of the dehumidifier. Pour the contents into a sink and replace the bucket.
  
  Finally, the LG dehumidifier has electronic controls to determine the amount of humidity you want in the room. If the relative humidity level of the room is below the setting on the dehumidifier, the unit will not turn on. Lower the set humidity level by pressing the "-" button until the dehumidifier starts operating.
  
  

Air Not Dry Enough

• Proper room conditions are needed for LG dehumidifiers to properly remove moisture from the air. If you recently started operating the dehumidifier, it may take 3 to 4 days before the room reaches your preferred humidity level. Check that the vents on the dehumidifier are not restricted by objects, such as furniture or curtains, around the unit. If airflow is restricted, the dehumidifier will not remove moisture from the air.
  
  Next, check the relative humidity setting for your dehumidifier. If the setting is too high, the humidity level of the room will remain high. Press the "-" button on the control pad to increase the amount of moisture removed from the air.
  
  Check each of the windows and doors in the room to ensure they are closed tightly. If the windows and doors are not completely closed, air from the outside will add to the humidity of the room, especially if the relative humidity of the outside air is high.
  
  Consider moving the dehumidifier to a room that doesn't have a dryer or stove in it. Dryers may increase the humidity in a room, especially if they are not vented outside. The stove can increase the humidity in a room if it is used to boil water regularly.
  
  Finally, check the temperature of the room. If the room temperature is below 65 degrees F, the dehumidifier will not operate efficiently. Move the dehumidifier to another room or raise the temperature of the room.
