- A silk peel takes about 20 minutes. For best results, it should be repeated four to six times, with treatments spaced seven to ten days apart. Skin is warm and pink for about 30 minutes after treatment and feels tight afterward. Skin must be maintained with hydration, moisturizers and sunscreens to maintain the effects of the silk peel.
