How to Use Excel's GAMMADIST Function

    • 1). Activate the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet application. Select "Start" from the main operating system menu. Next, choose "Programs" or "All programs" from the start menu. Then, click on "Microsoft Office" from the programs menu options. Finally, select "Microsoft Excel" from the Microsoft Office menu to activate the spreadsheet application.

    • 2). Open the spreadsheet file, which contains the data that you want to use Excel's GAMMADIST function. Click on the "File" option from main Excel menu. Then, choose "Open" from the file menu and locate the spreadsheet file. Lastly, double click on the file to open it.

    • 3). Select a cell within the spreadsheet where you want to place to output from the GAMMADIST function.

    • 4). Click on the "Insert function" button located just above the column headings on the spreadsheet. The function dialogue box should appear once you press the button.

    • 5). Type "GAMMDIST" into the search box located at the top of the dialogue box. Then, double click on the "GAMMADIST function" to activate the GAMMADIST dialogue box.

    • 6). Input the values for X, Alpha, Beta and the cumulative logic value. Once you enter these values, click "OK" and the output of the GAMMDIST function will appear in the cell you selected in Step 3. See Resources for more information.
