There is a very common condition among children known as pediculosis.
Pediculosis is more commonly known as head lice infestation.
Children are most vulnerable to this condition when they are between the ages of three and then.
Head lice infestation also spreads very quickly to almost everyone the infestation child comes into contact with.
Pediculosis will soon spread to their family, friends and classmates.
Usually schoool is where you child gets head lice.
It is important to kill every case of this that pops up in order to stop the spread.
Pediculosis already effects hundreds of millions of people every year and is a global endemic.
Lice are very hard to get rid of because their eggs are so hard to kill.
Many products can kill all of the adult lice in one shot but not the eggs.
The eggs, also called nits, hatch in seven to nine days and will start the process all over again.
Luckily, there are many different effective way to get rid of lice eggs.
First you need to kill all of the living lice.
Many people choose to use a medicated shampoo for this task.
If the instructions are followed accurately then you can probably kill all of the lice in only two treatments.
Most products tell you to space the treatments ten days apart, and sometimes a third time fives days after the second.
You will also want to use a delousing comb.
These are combs created to get nits and lice out of your hair.
Their teeth are much closer together than normal combs.
If you can get rid of even the majority of the eggs between treatments it will greatly increase your chances of getting rid of lice quickly.
