- 1). Power off the computer, remove any cables that are plugged into it and then flip the computer over.
- 2). Remove the battery and all the screws from the bottom end of your HP Dv6000 laptop with a screwdriver.
- 3). Flip the computer back over and take off the keyboard. Since you’ve unscrewed all the screws at the bottom of the laptop, the keyboard will just lift off of the computer.
- 4). Unscrew all the screws underneath the keyboard and pop off the case of the Dv6000 laptop.
- 5). Locate the video card by following the cable from the monitor and then unscrew the screws holding the video card in place.
- 6). Pop off the video card and put in the new Nvidia graphics card to replace it.
- 7). Screw the video card in place, put the case back on and screw that into place, then put the keyboard back on and flip the laptop over.
- 8). Replace all the screws and tighten them, replace the battery, and power the computer back on.
- 9). Insert the new graphics card software disk and follow the installation wizard for the new Nvidia graphics card.
