- 1). Press "Alt" and "Tab" at the same time to minimize the "World of Warcraft" program and return to your "Windows" desktop.
- 2). Click on "Start Menu," "All Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools" and "Character Map." This will open the character map program.
- 3). Right click on the special character you want to use. Look at the bottom right corner of the character map window - take note of the code there. For example, if you ant to type an "Ä" then youI would see "Alt-0196" in the bottom right corner of the character map window.
- 4). Press "Alt" and "Tab" at the same time to return to the "World of Warcraft" program.
- 5). Activate the dialog box by pressing "Enter" or right clicking on it.
- 6). Type "/ignore" followed by the name of the character you want to ignore. For example, type in "/ignore Hérpderp" to ignore the character named Hérderp. To type a special character, hold "Alt" while entering the code for the special character using the numeric keypad on the right hand side of the keyboard.
- 7). Press "Enter" and the character with the name you typed after the ignore command will be ignored. You will not be able to see any /emotes, /says, /whispers or tells from the character, nor will you see anything they say in guild, raid or party chat.
