If you have ever had to change your cell phone number and the person who had it before you was a cell phone addict, you're in for a long process to get these people to stop calling you.
I recently had to change one of my cell phone numbers because of an area code change and the new number I received must have been someone who doesn't pay their bills and who didn't mind getting phone calls all hours of the day and night.
Not only is it annoying and costly because they are eating up my minutes but it's hard to get them to stop calling.
If it is a bill collector they think you are lying about who you are and you're just trying to get them to stop calling you.
I tell them this is a new owner of this "cell" phone number and by them calling me is costing me money and minutes to my plan.
This will sometimes stop the calls but not always if they are persistent.
The other issue is old friends or contacts calling because they are not aware of the person changing their cell phone number.
I try not to be rude or give them a hard time unless they keep calling back.
After all we have all been there and don't mean to be invading their privacy.
However, if they keep getting calls you can block them with your service provider and that usually does the trick.
The only problem with that is they can call from other numbers and become well..

annoying.

Doing a reverse search gives you a wealth of information.
You can find out the owner of any cell phone, land line, mobile, or unlisted number.
Results may also include name, current address, carrier, location and public records as well as satellite imagery of the person's location.
